Mr. Benenati focuses his practice in protecting consumer's rights under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, and debt relief under the U.S. Federal Bankruptcy Code. He represents a broad range of clients in consumer law matters which include lawsuits involving Debt Collection Harassment, Credit Reporting Errors, Identity Theft, Bankruptcy, Debt Negotiation & Debt Settlement, and Debt Collection Lawsuit Defense.
After receiving the coveted USA Today All-Florida Academic Team Full-Tuition Scholarship, Mr. Benenati graduated magna cum laude from Florida International University's esteemed Honors College. He went on to attend St. Thomas University School of Law on a scholarship for academic achievement and was awarded the Most Outstanding Student in the fields of Contract Law and Advanced Legal Research and Writing. Mr. Benenati earned his Juris Doctorate in 2006. After passing the Florida Bar Exam on his first attempt, he has dedicated his practice to protecting the rights of consumers in Florida.
Prior to forming the Law Offices of Walter F. Benenati, Credit Attorney, P.A., Mr. Benenati served as a Florida Supreme Court certified legal intern for the City of Fort Lauderdale Prosecutor's Office, where he served as lead counsel in prosecuting cases, and was employed as a law clerk at a prominent Fort Lauderdale litigation firm where he gained experience drafting complaints involving federal statute violations under the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) and the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) in the Southern District of Florida.
His knowledge, communication skills, and passion for the law have given him the ability to vigorously represent his clients at all stages of litigation.
